Welcome to

Luxuriously equipped self-catering holidays - wrapped inside a touch of nostalgia.

Take a look inside.

Set in the scenic beauty of the Severn Valley Coalport Station is one of England's most romantic secrets. Up until 1968 Coalport Station was served by the line running from Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth. Further downriver some of that line remains in use as home to the Severn Valley Steam Railway. The station however is now a home, and host to two fabulous carriages offering quite exceptional accommodation.

This lovely spot is nestled in the dip of the historic Ironbridge Gorge, only yards from the river itself surrounded by trees and away from any bustle. Just one and five minutes walk away are warm and welcoming pubs, with gardens by the river, serving meals and traditional ales all day every day.

Our "retired" station, which no longer sees trains passing, sits to one side of relaid track and two self catering carriages.

Make sure to look at our prices, availability and 2013 special offers.

Your self-catering accommodation is a Mk1 railway carriage furnished with the ultimate in modern fittings. If railway Directors' carriages were built today we are sure that they would be similar in comfort to ours.

Step out onto the track path and you can walk into the heart of Ironbridge and straight to the famous bridge itself. If you wish to explore this exceptionally lovely area your holiday continues when you return each evening to your luxuriously equipped carriage accommodation.

May we recommend you take a look inside and see for yourself, then tour its wonderful garden and surroundings.

If you enjoy exploring then Coalport is a dreamer's starting point. Everything to enjoy in this lovely location is within walking distance, either by country paths or optionally along the quiet riverside road:

  • Located within the Ironbridge Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage site
  • Enjoy the beauty and tranquility of this natural environment and undeveloped area
  • Sense the romance of the area, as you stroll through leafy lanes without any cars, and along by the river
  • Discover the thrill of the Industrial Revolution, by visiting the many award winning museums
  • Take a real steam train further down the line.

If you enjoy nature then this area is perfect in all respects:

  • On the riverbank: kingfishers, herons, swans
  • On the estate: Owls, buzzards, and in summer swallows and swift
  • We also see badgers, foxes and even deer from time to time.
